MICROFILTER
With its unique lever-action pump handle, the MSR SweetWater® Microfilter is the easiest-to-use water filter. It pumps water on both up and down strokes, resulting in a fast flow rate of 1.25 liters per minute. When not in use, the handle folds flat for compact storage. Weighing just 320g it's also one of the lightest filters on the market. It uses replaceable filter cartridges, and each cartridge filters up to 200 gallons of water. A layer of granular activated carbon surrounds the filter element and improves the taste of unsavory water. Eliminates over 99.9999% of all waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of common protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It comes with a stainless steel pre-filter, two color-coded silicone hoses, foam float, water bottle adapter, cleaning brush, and carry bag.
PURIFIER
This iodine-free purifier system includes the proven MSR Sweetwater® Microfilter for removal of waterborne bacteria and protozoan parasites, plus the chlorine-based protection of ViralStop™ to effectively inactivate viruses. ViralStop™ is fast and easy to use. No slow or double-pumping is required. For each liter of filtered water, just add five drops and wait five minutes. One bottle of ViralStop treats 80 gallons of water. A Platypus® 2+ Liter Bottle that connects directly to the microfilter is included for ViralStop treatment. This system works fast in all water conditions and meets the stringent US EPA requirements for Microbiological Water Purifiers. It inactivates 99.99% of waterborne viruses and eliminates over 99.9999% of all waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of common protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It comes with an 80 micron stainless steel pre-filter, two color-coded silicone hoses, foam float, water bottle adapter, cleaning brush, and carry bag. 395g.
VIRAL STOP
ViralStop™ is a chlorine-based purifier solution that provides simple and fast virus protection - just add 5 drops of ViralStop™ to each liter of filtered water, mix for at least 10 seconds, and wait 5 minutes. ViralStop™ comes in a spill-proof dispenser bottle for accurate measuring. Proven effective, chlorine is used to treat over 95% of all U.S. tap water. Most people believe it tastes much better than water treated with iodine-based products.
ViralStop™ contains a special grade of Chlorine Solution, which prolongs shelf life and is EPA registered. We have carefully tuned the ViralStop™ solution for the best possible combination of performance (fewer drops per liter = less weight to carry) and shelf life.
With ViralStop™ as a key component, the MSR Sweetwater® Purifier System meets stringent EPA standards and inactivates 99.99% of waterborne viruses and eliminates over 99.9999% of all waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of common protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
ViralStop purifier solution has only been tested and approved for use with the MSR Sweetwater® microfilter. We do not recommend use with any other filter.
